A Woman's View

Thought I'd Share

I opened my email today and got this forward from 2 different people so I thought I'd share...

The ' L I T T L E' Things

As you might know, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was
his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her
alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
because of an auto accident.

One of them
missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
time to change.

car wouldn't start.

One went back to
answer the telephone .

One had a
child that dawdled
and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't
get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man
who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
took the various means to get to work
but before he got there, he developed
a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am
stuck in traffic ,
miss an elevator,
turn back to answer a ringing telephone ...
all the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself,
this is exactly where

God wants me to be
at this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be
going wrong ,

the children are slow getting dressed,
you can't seem to find the car keys,
you hit every traffic light,
don't get mad or frustrated; It
may be just that
God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you
with all those annoying little things
and may you remember their possible purpose.

Never Ever

Never say never. Ever. That is my tip of the week. Just when you think you'd never do something you find yourself doing it. For instance I said Haley would never sleep with us. Not that I think there's anything wrong with it, it just scared me to think what could happen. 3am your a little more fearless. Also I said after we move out of this apartment I am never moving again...well I am not going to stay forever where I am going so...we'll be moving again I am pretty sure. Saying never I believe is like us challenging God or that we are trying to be in control, when no we are not in control. Don't you love it when you are down on your knees begging God to take control and he's just looking down saying, LET GO! Well thats where I am at right now. The letting go. I am trying to be excited about where that may take us, but I thinking it's not going to take us to making millions. But then again never say never. :)

Some time last year when New Song had just began I was feeling a little stressed. I hadn't taught a bible class before and was wanting to do a good job. Plus other things were on my mind. One Sunday I was rushing into church service after class and Debbie Keyser was giving out these papers. On them it read "To blessed to be Stressed". She told me I looked a little stressed and handed me one. I looked at it and thought I really do need to slow down and get a grip. So I thought I'd keep this little paper thinking one day I may be here again and need the reminder.

About a month ago I was frustrated at where we were financially and wanted to have some financial freedoms. I started to think why does God not bless us. Then I thought of Haley and needing to support her. I just started thinking about Haley and what a blessing she is. Then how Peter is a blessing. Then a light bulb kind of clicked and I thought I am blessed! I have a great family and friends and awesome church.

Well a couple of weeks ago I was getting Haley ready and we were singing and talking and I was feeling better about life and I heard the door to our apartment open. Scared to death I grabbed Haley off the changing table, because you know she'll protect me and started to the door. I came face to face with Peter. Well face to chest, I am short. I kind of got excited thinking he took the day off for me. The day before I asked him to because he had big weekend plans and I wasn't going to see him all weekend. But from looking at him I knew this wasn't why he was home. He said he had been let go from his job. Needless to say I felt a little overwhelmed by this information. The rest of the day I was walking around the house in a fog. I had been doing the laundry and I was putting Haley's clothes away when I saw something, it was little paper. I opened it up and there staring back at me were those words that had comforted me before...To Blessed to Be Stressed.

Talk about cry your eyes out, fall on the floor moment. I knew I was blessed! Peter's job does not determine that. God has blessed me more then I ever deserve! I am not sure what God has in store for us. But I know that this even as scary as it can seem it is a blessing too.

Who Needs Sleep?
well your never going get.
Who Needs Sleep?
tell me what's that for?
Who Needs Sleep?
i havn't been to sleep since Haley was born.

Okay that was the chorus to a Barenaked Ladies song and I changed the words a little, but that's pretty much how I feel right now. SO SLEEPY! Peter even let me sleep in a little this morning. Oh well, it's worth it. Next month we start cereal! Hear that will help the sleeping. We'll see!

Why is it when you go out of town you have to dial the area code for usually a local number on your cell. BUT when people call you from town while you are still out they don't have to dial the area code?

I am a Perfectionist

A UCI study found that on average a worker can focus for just 11 minutes at a time before being interrupted (by email,co-worker,etc) and is unable to refocus for another 25 minutes.

According to the Smell and Taste Research Foundation, If you like pretzels, you're probably a flirt. If you like tortilla chips you're a perfectionist, potato chips a go-getter, cheese curls you have a lot of intergrity and beef jerky, you're the life of the party. If you like them all you are likely over-weight.

Want to eat a good restraunt meal at home? A recent survey in Food Technology names Ruby Tuesday's as the best chain for take-out. Reb Lobster and Outback grabbed the second and third spots.

The secret to a hot date? Wash your car. A recent survey reveals tht a clean and uncluttered car is actually more important than the make or model.

Research from the University of Colorado has shown that walking 20 minute mile actually burn more fat than walking a 12 minute one.

To fix the bent frame of your plastic sunglasses, turn a blow-dryer on high and blast hot air on the frames. The heat will make the plastic flexible so you can mold the frames back to their original shape.
